Description
Okay, so this costume was a long time coming and made with so much love I can't even begin to express it all. Mad Moxxi has always been one of my favorite females from Borderlands and with my love for her I put her on that impossible to achieve level, but finally with the confidence a friend gave me I finally made her.
I constructed this costume non-stop over about three weeks. I made and then hand painted each piece for the Cel-shaded look known all to well in the Borderlands universe. The collar and sleeves I made out of white cotton and I hand painted all black lines to make sure I got the proper amount and thickness depicted by hers. The buttons were hand selected and painted. I made her Rubi holster and belt buckle out of foamie and again painted...and painted. The hat was also made out of the same fabric as the outfit and hand painted. I used yellow bias to line the entire costume. Her coat was hand drafted and then slowly taken in until I was happy with the results. I used cotton and acrylic paints to give the stripes.
Like her costume and not pictured I have the design on the back of the jacket. I had painted the design on interfacing and then sewed it to the back of the jacket. I also had the tails of her coat lined with a quilted design that I hand dyed slightly yellow. I then used a black sharpie and drew on larger scale quilted patterns to really give it the "pop" of the cel-shaded effect.
