Zatanna Cosplay 1 by HoodedWoman Zatanna Cosplay 1 by HoodedWoman
A picture of my Zatanna costume with my friend Ann in her Chun-Li costume. I made this costume in 3 days for Megacon 2012! It was a lot of fun and I had a great time.

How did you make this costume? I just finished my temporary version of this for now. I do not have a wig, that awesome tailcoat of yours, or a wand. Any help with how I can make/ where I can buy those items?

I used the official DC costume as a pattern. I literally took the DC costume apart and used the pieces I needed to remake the costume with some better materials. There were a few changes like in the front I went with a one button closure jacket style since the DC was a one piece that, though it could button, was not an actual functioning jacket. Plus, I'd made jackets before so that part was a breeze. So, I think in the end I only ended up using the DC pieces to pattern out my tails and the collar. I'm so terrible at collars.

The wand I bought at a local party store. They had it under the themed party section...which is where I also got my hat.

Wigs, well I get my wigs from a ton of places but some of my favorites are: [link] and [link] .

Thank you for the help! I will see if I can style my hair to make it took like Zatanna's (I have black curly hair, but it's not wavy) but I got to get on that coat business!

Btw, I can't believe you made so many pieces to your costume! I mean, yeah, I can believe it, but I have no time to do such a thing so I am thoroughly amazed. I just bought a few things, took some things out of the closet and voila. That's my costume! Though, so far I am just using it for a birthday party so I guess that's ok.

I think that's great! Showing love for a character and having fun is what costuming and cosplay are all about!
